Thank you, Davis Enterprise (and Landon Christensen) for the article!
The numbers are in and we can conservatively report that 2,000 people came out for 2013 DMF (includes musicians and volunteers). So far, our streak of 100% participant satisfaction is still intact. Please spread the word on that front.
Speaking of which.. we welcome feedback and encourage emails to firstname.lastname@example.org with “feedback” in the subject line for ease of mail management. Please don’t send specific band suggestions for 2014. We’ll start that process in another 5-6 months.
We’ll have next year’s date to you soon.. in the meantime, consider saving SATURDAY, OCTOBER 12TH ~ FESTIVAL ON THE GREEN (a collaboration between Music Only Makes Sense and the Davis High School Blue & White Foundation).. 2 alternating stages with 7-8 bands in Central Park… more like Treasure Island Music Fest’s format than what you experienced last weekend.
Again – thanks to all of our sponsors, volunteers, musicians and fans. Let’s keep this goin’.
Everyone 12+ needs a wristband. Most venues are all ages, but bars become 21+ at 9pm.
With the exception of the Davis Art Center stage, if you bring your kids downtown, they’ll be allowed into venues at no charge. However, if capacity becomes an issue, you’ll need to buy them a wristband or exit. Please also remember to protect their (and your) ears with headphones (or ear plugs, if old enough).
There’s a chance that some venues will have “single venue entry” options for $10, but that won’t be determined until the afternoon wears on. Based on the response so far, I wouldn’t rely on it.
As a reminder, this is a fund-raiser for the Davis Schools Arts Foundation who support music, arts and performing arts departments in our local public schools. We greatly appreciate your attendance and contribution to the cause.
Post questions in the comments section, if you’d like. Thank you.
